my name is Gabe McClintock. i am an observer. i am a photographer. i am a dreamer. i am a traveler. i am a husband and most importantly i am a Dad. i shoot anything and everything. i capture the connections between people. the connections between families and the connection within yourself. i tell stories through imagery. i hope you like my stories enough to let me tell yours.
this is their story. this is my story.

when you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn - harriet b. stowe

two incredible people. a beautiful connection. her smile as bright as the lights of Vegas. and a humble and caring nature not seen in many. this is how i would describe David and Kim from Ohana Photography. with so much wrong happening to these two as of late, it was amazing to still see the smiles and hear the laughter they shared. it was a session that made me smile. a session that showed me what perseverance truly was. it was session that i will not soon forget. thank you Kimi and David for a wonderful few hours and i know everything will get better. and as the saying goes, you need rain to make a rainbow.

Ohana photographers - kim: Gabe, as we sit here in the doctors office reading your words tears are streaming down my face. With all that is happening especially with my daddy this session with you took mine and david's mind off all that is going on around us and gave us a couple hours to connect like all is right with the world. I realy fought David on getting pictures done "no matter how rad I think Gabe is, I don't want them!" well, I lost and am so happy I did. All I can say is, Gabe, you truly are amazing. Now my kids have amazing photos of their parents showing how truly in love and happy they are. Please excuse the babbling and poor grammer, david's the writer in this family and I'm sure he'll say something too. Stay amazing gabe, our ohana wish your family much love and blessings. Until next time. 03.11.2010

rich & heather // connection

there is magic in long distance friendships. they let you relate to other human beings in a way that goes beyond being physically together and is often more profound - diana cortes

connection
03.10.2010

September 20th 2007 was my very first contact with Rich and ever since we have shared our experiences, thoughts on life, on photography and watched each others families grow all through emails, blogs, twitter and facebook. it has been a wonderful few years and this year we were finally able to meet in Vegas for WPPI. both Rich and Heather are so humble and genuinely kind people who care about others in a way that many of us could learn from. they have such passion for each other, for their little girl Alana and the well being of others around them. it was truly an amazing few days spent together. we laughed, we had incredible conversations that the closet of friends would share and I was even able to have a connection session with them. thank you Rich and Heather for being….well…you. you two are remarkable people and i can’t wait till next time.

it’s important for me to get out. get out with Jen. get out with Aisha. get out as a family and just enjoy life. i feel we all get caught up with work sometimes. we spend too much time on Twitter, on Facebook on Chat, having digital relationships with digital friends, instead of experiencing a true human connection. a connection with loved ones. with family. we need to enjoy the company of those closest to us more. we need to make more time for family. i needed this outing for myself. for my family. for my girls. with another one on the way in less then three months, it will be more important then ever to make that time to be together. to slow down the race of life and enjoy my family. take the time because no one ever says, i’d wish I’d spent more time at the office.

a year ago i sat and watched Ron Dawson talked about the importance of showing clients who you are on a personal level during his WPPI presentation. i knew then a promotional video was something that i wanted to have. something i wanted for my business. it would allow viewers to get to know who i am before they met me. it would give my online presence a personal feeling. i wanted a video that showed what was important to me. what my goal is to capture while i shoot. it had to give viewers a glimpse into who i am. so Ron flew up from Atlanta to create a promotional video for me. he understood what my goal was. he understood what i wanted to capture. i wanted substance over style and he was able to give me both.

…………………………………..

so here i am. doing what i love. taking about what i love to do.

as i sat there looking out the window of the plane, i smiled. i smiled because of the job i get to do. i smiled because the connection i had just witnessed the day before. i smiled because of the family i had waiting for me when i landed. i smiled because i am living a blessed life. a life that only a few years ago seemed out of reach. a life that allows me to stay at home, to see my daughter grow up, to have spontaneous holidays with my wonderful wife, a life that allows me to capture and witness beautiful connections year round with strangers who turn into friends. i smiled. i smiled because it’s my life.
