my name is Gabe McClintock. i am an observer. i am a photographer. i am a dreamer. i am a traveler. i am a husband and most importantly i am a Dad. i shoot anything and everything. i capture the connections between people. the connections between families and the connection within yourself. i tell stories through imagery. i hope you like my stories enough to let me tell yours.
this is their story. this is my story.

take the time

no matter what you've done for yourself or for humanity, if you can't look back on having given love and attention to your own family, what have you really accomplished. - lee Iacocca

it’s important for me to get out. get out with Jen. get out with Aisha. get out as a family and just enjoy life. i feel we all get caught up with work sometimes. we spend too much time on Twitter, on Facebook on Chat, having digital relationships with digital friends, instead of experiencing a true human connection. a connection with loved ones. with family. we need to enjoy the company of those closest to us more. we need to make more time for family. i needed this outing for myself. for my family. for my girls. with another one on the way in less then three months, it will be more important then ever to make that time to be together. to slow down the race of life and enjoy my family. take the time because no one ever says, i’d wish I’d spent more time at the office.

a year ago i sat and watched Ron Dawson talked about the importance of showing clients who you are on a personal level during his WPPI presentation. i knew then a promotional video was something that i wanted to have. something i wanted for my business. it would allow viewers to get to know who i am before they met me. it would give my online presence a personal feeling. i wanted a video that showed what was important to me. what my goal is to capture while i shoot. it had to give viewers a glimpse into who i am. so Ron flew up from Atlanta to create a promotional video for me. he understood what my goal was. he understood what i wanted to capture. i wanted substance over style and he was able to give me both.

…………………………………..

so here i am. doing what i love. taking about what i love to do.

as i sat there looking out the window of the plane, i smiled. i smiled because of the job i get to do. i smiled because the connection i had just witnessed the day before. i smiled because of the family i had waiting for me when i landed. i smiled because i am living a blessed life. a life that only a few years ago seemed out of reach. a life that allows me to stay at home, to see my daughter grow up, to have spontaneous holidays with my wonderful wife, a life that allows me to capture and witness beautiful connections year round with strangers who turn into friends. i smiled. i smiled because it’s my life.

sima & ab // connection

true Love is indescribable, yet self-explanatory - anonymous

connection
02.09.2010

when Ab and Sima asked if i would mind if we shot their connection in Los Angeles, i of course said “not at all”. an abundance of new locations, warmth not felt here locally in February and soft California light. all this plus a wonderful couple, i knew it was going to be amazing. so the days leading up to my flight, i had been watching the weather and all forecasts were calling for rain, rain and more rain. oh well, what can you do? the couple and their connection will still be same, locations will be new and rain in L.A. will still be warmer then sun back home. so you go with the flow. i landed and it was raining. we went out for dinner. still raining. go to bed. still raining. wake up. still raining. i watch a few satellite radar forecasts online and it seems that it’ll clear up. we were on the edge of the cloud. fingers crossed we headed out with hopes of clearing. and it did. the day was perfect. soft light, moody clouds and warm California sun. Ab and Sima you two were incredible and i thank you for going with the flow. for putting your trust in me. for driving around without question when i asked to go to O.C. then downtown, then Long Beach then to catch the sunset in Hollywood. it was a wonderful day and you two created some incredible images.

Sarah: How you come up with these ideas and "poses" I know not. They look so carefree, yet sweet. Romantic, yet serious. Stunning! 02.09.2010

Andrea Wiseman: You are an artist & a master at what you do. I am moved by every single image you take... None of your work is ever a repeat of a past session or another photographer, and to me...that says a lot about what kind of photographer you are. Just pure amazing. 02.09.2010

ali: gorgeous session. 02.09.2010

Eliud Matos: WOW! I love the way you see! 02.09.2010

Ab Uppal: To be very honest – it’s hard to use words to describe the feeling Sima and I had after viewing the final images. Even when faced with adverse weather conditions and the 676 miles traveled you found a way to capture the “Moment.” No question – your drive and passion for the next shot is what makes you so successful. Thanks for the laughs Gabe – see you at the wedding!! 02.10.2010

Sima Modi: GABE. I can't wait to see the rest! We're so happy to know you're the one that is capturing our session and our special day! Thanks for coming out to Cali, not only did we have fun but the pictures are amazing:) 02.10.2010

Camilla Photography: Nice! Especially the sunset ones. SO beautiful! 02.11.2010
