i don't wish to be everything to everyone, but i would like to be something to someone - javan
a busy start to 2010 and then a month off, it was wonderful to get back. to witness and capture another connection. here is what i saw recently on a beautiful night spent with tracy and dan.

the most important things in life are your friends, family, health, good humor and a positive attitude towards life. if you have these then you have everything - unknown
early morning instead of early evening in a new city. a change for me. however despite the changes, the same connections remain. a brother. a sister and two incredible parents. thank you for a wonderful few hours of walking, laughing, exploring, train watching, rock throwing and bearing the winds.

the sun streaming in through the window. little ethen cuddled up in his dad’s arms. his big brother eating cake. i knew it needed to be captured. it was a moment. an impromptu session in the living room. this is what i saw.

it was the tiniest thing I ever decided to put my whole life into - terri guillemets
it is something that we as photographers love. we capture the connection of two people. two people who love each other. who are about to start a life together. to go down a path together. we witness their celebration. they share that moment with us and allow us to document it, to celebrate with them. to become friends. and further along down that path a family is born and they invite us back. into their lives. to share in another celebration. to capture the new connection, the connection between a mother and child, between a father and his daughter. the connection between a family. it is an incredible journey to witness and it makes me realize how important what i do is. i am able to give couples, friends, families little moments that they are able to treasure. they’re able to hold an image and go back to that very moment. able to relive that feeling. it truly is a wonderful gift.

i am happy to share a new celebration of two people whom i have gotten to know over the last three years. two people who have invited me along on their journey and allowed me to witness it. to capture it. to share in their joy. Maryrose and Renan i am so happy for you both. Paige is such a beautiful little girl. it is incredible to see the way parents look into their baby’s eyes. the way they hold her. calm her. soothe her. it is a human connection unlike any other. thank you both for bringing me along.

two incredible people. a beautiful connection. her smile as bright as the lights of Vegas. and a humble and caring nature not seen in many. this is how i would describe David and Kim from Ohana Photography. with so much wrong happening to these two as of late, it was amazing to still see the smiles and hear the laughter they shared. it was a session that made me smile. a session that showed me what perseverance truly was. it was session that i will not soon forget. thank you Kimi and David for a wonderful few hours and i know everything will get better. and as the saying goes, you need rain to make a rainbow.

Ohana photographers - kim: Gabe, as we sit here in the doctors office reading your words tears are streaming down my face. With all that is happening especially with my daddy this session with you took mine and david's mind off all that is going on around us and gave us a couple hours to connect like all is right with the world. I realy fought David on getting pictures done "no matter how rad I think Gabe is, I don't want them!" well, I lost and am so happy I did. All I can say is, Gabe, you truly are amazing. Now my kids have amazing photos of their parents showing how truly in love and happy they are. Please excuse the babbling and poor grammer, david's the writer in this family and I'm sure he'll say something too. Stay amazing gabe, our ohana wish your family much love and blessings.
