my goal is to communicate the organization and beauty that exists in our universe underneath the appearance of random chaos - aleta pippin
i have a fascination with weather. with clouds. with storm clouds. i’ve spent countless hours in my car. eyes continuously looking to the sky. chasing. many hours in the rain. grocery bag over my camera trying to capture that shot. to me, there is something so beautiful in something that terrifies many. the power. the calm in the air that gently sits on the edge of chaos. it’s incredible. living in southern Alberta, we often get some very powerful looking skies. the open prairie provides an incredible contrast to the chaos that floats just above. a recent drive south with my family i saw a storm building. the wind increasing. then calm. i pull over. run out. grab a few images. the light is unbelievable. dark ominous skies to the west. sun shining from the east. a natural soft box. here is the beauty before the chaos.

the ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak - hans hofmann
ever notice that sometimes the simplest of things are often some of the most beautiful. a single storm cloud in the sky.
